Frequently Asked Questions
What is the cancellation policy for booked excursions?
Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the start of the activity will incur a 50% penalty on the total amount, in accordance with Royal Legislative Decree 1/2007. No-shows at the pickup point will result in a 100% loss of the booking amount. If the organising company cancels or substantially modifies the excursion due to adverse weather conditions or force majeure, the client is entitled to an alternative activity or a full refund. A ticket or proof of purchase is strictly required for any claim or refund.
What languages are guided tours and sea activities conducted in?
We provide pre- and post-sale assistance in English, Italian and Spanish. Field excursions are led by professional multilingual guides who speak fluent Spanish, English and, in most cases, Italian and German. We select providers based on their ability to clearly communicate safety protocols and local information.
Which excursions in South Tenerife are suitable for families with children?
Many of our experiences are designed with families in mind. Whale and dolphin watching catamarans departing from Puerto Colón or Los Cristianos are accessible to all ages. For motorised activities like Jet Ski in Costa Adeje, or high-altitude ones like Teide trails, we apply age and height limits set by our partners' regulations. Each service listing states the minimum participation requirements.
Are Teide or boat excursions cancelled in case of bad weather?
Participant safety guides every decision. The captains and guides we work with constantly monitor local weather conditions. If conditions at Playa de las Américas, on the open sea or at altitude do not guarantee a safe outing, the activity is suspended and we proceed with immediate rescheduling or a full refund.
What payment methods are accepted for bookings?
We accept credit and debit card payments, cash at our office, bank transfer (transferencia bancaria), Bizum and other electronic methods. Depending on the excursion, the system requires either full payment or a deposit to secure availability. The remaining balance must be paid the day before or on the day itself, before the tour begins. The official ticket is only issued once the full amount is completely settled.
How far in advance should I book activities in Tenerife?
Spots on small-capacity excursions, such as quad tours or small boat charters, fill up quickly. We suggest booking at least 4-7 days in advance, with longer lead times during peak season months. Booking early secures availability in the best time slots, such as sunset tours.
What is the advantage of booking through Makà Experiences?
We personally know every captain, guide and supplier in our catalogue. We regularly test in the field the equipment, routes and service level of the companies whose authorised resellers we are. Purchasing any experience through us guarantees access to official provider rates, combined with rigorous quality control and direct support at every stage of the process.
Is there a pick-up service for guests staying in the south of the island?
Yes. Pick-up is available from the following areas: Costa Adeje, Los Cristianos, Las Américas and La Caleta. The exact pick-up point within your area will be confirmed when you book.
