Tenerife Weather Month by Month: When Is the Right Time for You
One of the questions we get most often: "What's the best time to come?" The honest answer is that South Tenerife is worth visiting year-round, but some months offer different experiences.
Winter (December-February)
Daytime temperatures typically around 20-22°C, cooler but still enjoyable sea, and it's when the contrast with the snow-capped Teide summit is most spectacular: you can be in a t-shirt on the coast and see the snowy peak just a few kilometres away.
Spring (March-May)
Very stable weather, fewer crowds than summer, ideal conditions for Teide excursions and outdoor activities.
Summer (June-September)
Daytime temperatures around 26-29°C, peak tourist season, warmer sea: the best period for anyone prioritising water activities above all else.
Autumn (October-November)
Similar to spring in terms of stable weather, with the advantage of a sea still warm after summer.
One fact that always surprises people: whale watching has no season here, it works the same all year round, so whatever time you travel, that experience is always a great choice.
