3 Days in South Tenerife: the Itinerary for Those Short on Time
Not every trip lasts a week. If you have three days in South Tenerife, here's how we'd organise them.
Day 1: the sea
Morning departure by catamaran into the channel between Tenerife and La Gomera for whale watching, free afternoon at the beach to unwind from travel and settle in.
Day 2: the volcano
A day dedicated to Teide: the guided excursion for those who want to truly understand the landscape, or the quad or Mustang at sunset for those seeking more adrenaline in the same setting. At 3,715 metres, Teide is Spain's highest peak and the Atlantic's highest point too, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2007: whichever way you experience it, this single day covers ground nowhere else on the island can match.
Day 3: your choice
We leave the last day open on purpose: Siam Park if you're travelling with kids, snorkelling or kayaking if you'd rather stay in the water, paragliding for one last adrenaline hit before heading home.
When to fit these three days in
South Tenerife's dry, sunny microclimate means this itinerary works in almost any month of the year, but a couple of things are worth checking before you lock in dates: the whale-watching channel is calmest on days with little wind, and Teide's summit is only ever as good as its visibility, so keep half an eye on the forecast and, if you can, leave which day does what a little flexible.
Three days are enough for a serious first taste of the island, not to see it all: that's why most of our guests come back, sooner or later.
